Register Your Name.Co It’s Available Now!

I was just brainstorming few ideas for Domain names to register for my new blog and looked that GoDaddy has started offering Domain Names with .CO extension. There has been a lot of talk about .Co domain names. Infact it is said that .Co domain names are going to be popular after the famous .Com’s.

.Co is actually an extension for Columbia, like Ca for Canada, In for India etc. But it could be used for a Company also or imagine your first Name.Co. Cool isn’t it?

The Registration for .Com domain names for general public starts from 20th July, but GoDaddy is offering a pre-registration, just to get you in the line and it will try to grab your desired domain name. They are charging a big amount though.

They are offering two way to pre- register the domain name you want.

Priority Landrush

If You want a better chance of securing your popular domain before General Availability opens. They are charging around $299 out of which $289.99 is refundable. You can add $29 for additional Year.

Standard Pre-Registration General Availability

If you opt for this, they will get your name in at the top of the list. After July 20, all names will be first come, first served. You will get your Domain name if you are 1st on the list. for this, they are charging the regular fees for .Co domain, which is $29 per Year.

As this domain extension is really new and is not out yet, you have a high chance that you get your desired domain name.

You can also make some cash out of it if you plan to make some investment on it.

For Example: Imagine if you get to register Money.Co or Dating.Co or anything popular one word. You can sell it for a great amount of price.

I think it is going to be the most popular domain extension after .Com, and all the popular names would be gone within few hours of the public release.

Where to sell Domain Names?

If you really get to buy some cool names then you can go to Sedo, Flippa.Com or Digital Point Forum to sell them for some quick cash. or try searching few other domain name selling websites.
