We are all set to enter the New Year within few hours time, with new hopes, new targets, and new resolutions. We all know these things last just for a month or two, then we are again the out normal routines.

This is done because it takes time to change, things can’t be done in a day or two. Be it getting up early in the morning, or shape up your body by working out regularly, everything takes time. The same thing can be applied to blogging also, and it takes time to show results. So, I’d suggest you to stick to it. Give your blog sometime to grow. Here is what I would suggest you guys to do in 2010.

Beginner bloggers

With beginner bloggers I mean bloggers whose blogs are 6 months old or younger than that.

Analyze

If you have created at least 50 posts on your blog, it’s time to check which of your blogs are doing well, on which posts more people are landing, and where are they coming from (I use Google Analytics for that). This will give you an idea about why people are coming to your blogs. Now it’s time to sub categorize your blog niche. This means give more emphasis on this which are liked by others on your blog.

Monetize

As you are going to cross the six months on your blog, it’s time for you to think about monetizing (it’s not wrong if you are already monetizing your blog) Join few affiliate programs, ad networks, etc… for your blog.

Promote

Try to be more active on social media, be friends with like-minded people and talk about your blog in public by sharing your blog content with them.

Part time bloggers

Blogger who are 6 months old in the blogosphere, but still working on their blogs, are a part time blogger. If you want to become a full time blogger, set a target for you self you need to achieve in order to quit your day job. For example, if you are making $$$ per month from your day job, and making $$ from your blog, make $$$ per month, your target for your blogging income. Work accordingly. Give your blog another six months to reach there, analyze your strength and weakness, your productive work and then plan your blogging hours accordingly.
